In Under a Killing Moon, Tex Murphy, has hit rock bottom. Recently divorced from his wife Sylvia, out of a job, out of cash, and living in a rundown part of Old San Francisco. Tex realizes that he needs to find work...any kind of work. He's back in the saddle once again when he discovers that the local pawnshop has been robbed. Tex solves the case, and things are finally looking up. Soon after, a mysterious woman hires him to find her missing statuette. Everything looks rosy at first as the Countess is promising more money than he's ever seen in his life. However, things take a sudden turn when Tex finds himself unwittingly involved in the affairs of a dangerous cult. |

Caught somewhere between the tail end of the full-motion video craze and the dawn of the 3D revolution, it walked a delicate line between passé and cutting-edge, and for that brief moment in time, it was perfect. Years later, it remains a seminal classic but often goes overlooked for the very reasons that once made it seem so fresh.
Adventure Gamers: All adventure fans should own it. What's a Tex Murphy game without an excellent storyline and subplots all along the way? You'll go from a small-time pawn shop burglary and end up trying to save the world from a cult with plans to end it. And you will most definitely be caught up in the adventure the whole time. The clever item descriptions and character dialogue will keep you playing into the wee hours of the night to peel off the next layer.

The Finest series of FMV Adventures Ever Made :Although I admit my opinion is slightly influenced by nostalgia, the Tex Murphy series is certainly one of the best series of adventure games ever made. Under A Killing Moon is the third game in the series and the first one in what everybody will recognize to be 'the Tex Murphy style'.It's a blend of FMV and 3D First Person Point & Click Adventure that hits the sweet spot on both. The FMV consists of small (several different) travel animations, conversations with NPCs and full cutscenes.And even though the graphics are outdated, they were made with such charm (CGI and life action both) that you really don't/won't care.The Tex Murphy 'universe' is a lovely blend of sci-fi, film noir and just a hint of post-catastrophe (not quite apocalypse) America. You can't call yourself an adventure game lover and not have played these games. If you haven't, do yourself a huge favor and get this game. I can pretty much guarantee you'll want to get the next two games after playing this one.
